Vey nou Lagon is an inspirational documentary that follows a traditional artisanal fisherman and his family as they tell us the story of the Mauritian lagoons and show us the current state of the ocean. The film highlights the local heroes and success stories of Mauritius and Rodrigues, an autonomous outer island of Mauritius. Fishermen from the two islands provide solutions and inspire others to take simple actions at the individual level to make a difference. Watch it now on National Geographic!

Our ocean is part of our history, our culture, our livelihood, and our economy. We are two young Mauritians who have witnessed the degradation of our lagoons over the years. We all want our healthy ocean back, with plentiful fish and colorful reefs. Solutions exist but alone we are only a small fish in a vast ocean; it is as a community that we will succeed. Together, let’s Vey nou Lagon.
